Overview:

The North Ridge of Mount Baker (10,781 ft) is a demanding Cascade classic, often listed among the 50 Classic Climbs of North America. Expect crevassed glaciers, steep alpine ice, and sustained climbing on one of the most striking ridge lines in the Northwest. On this 3-day guided climb, you’ll refine technical skills, tackle multiple ice pitches (up to 60°), and summit one of Washington’s most iconic volcanoes.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Approach:
Meet at The Garage Café in Sedro-Woolley, WA for gear check and trip briefing. From there, we’ll caravan to the trailhead and hike to camp on the Coleman Glacier (~6,000 ft).

Day 2 – Summit Push:
Pre-dawn start. Cross glacier terrain, climb steep snow and multiple alpine ice pitches (40–60°), gain the North Ridge, and push to the 10,781 ft summit of Mount Baker. Descend via the Coleman-Deming back to camp.

Day 3 – Hike Out:
Pack up camp, descend to the trailhead, and close the trip with a debrief.
