This 9-day expedition is designed for those looking to take their mountain skills to the next level through professional instruction and high-altitude climbing on progressively taller peaks. You’ll learn and apply critical techniques like crampon footwork, self-arrest, rope systems, glacier travel, and high-altitude pacing while experiencing Mexico’s rich culture and landscapes.

Itinerary Snapshot

Day 1 – Arrival & Team Meet

Arrive in Mexico City or Puebla, team meet-up, gear check, and trip briefing.

Day 2 – La Malinche Acclimatization Climb

Acclimatization hike and summit of La Malinche (14,640 ft). Focus on high-altitude movement, footwork, and pacing.

Day 3 – Rest & Transfer

Active rest day, cultural exploration, and transfer to Iztaccihuatl base.

Day 4 – Approach Iztaccihuatl Base

Trek to base camp, review glacier gear and crampon techniques.

Day 5 – Iztaccihuatl Summit Push

Early alpine start to summit Iztaccihuatl (17,160 ft). Glacier travel, rope systems, and pacing at altitude.

Day 6 – Recovery & Transfer to Orizaba

Descend, recover, and transfer to Pico de Orizaba base area.

Day 7 – Glacier Skills & Acclimatization

Crampon and ice axe practice, self-arrest, rope travel refresh, and acclimatization hike.

Day 8 – Pico de Orizaba Summit Day

Early alpine start for the glacier climb to Mexico’s highest peak, Pico de Orizaba (18,491 ft). Apply glacier travel, crampon use, and rope systems during a full summit day.

Day 9 – Celebration & Departure

Descend, celebrate your triple summit, and transfer for departures.
